Emergency Eyecare Services

Did you know that a significant number of eye-related emergency room visits could have been treated by an eye doctor. This is because they’re equipped to handle foreign body removal, severe allergies, infections, and more.

Eye emergencies often happen unexpectedly and may require immediate attention. Our optometrists are experts at addressing sudden-onset symptoms and injuries that need urgent eyecare.

If you experience an eye emergency outside of our regular office hours or need urgent care, please use your best judgment and visit the nearest urgent care or emergency room.

You may need emergency services if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Eye infections
  • Foreign objects stuck in the eyes
  • Eye trauma
  • Scratched eyes
  • Sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes
  • Lost or broken contact lenses or eyeglasses
  • Flashes of light in the vision
  • Red or painful eyes
  • Dislodged contact lenses

If you or someone else is experiencing an eye emergency, refrain from doing the following while waiting for professional medical assistance:

  • DO NOT rub on or press on an injured eye.
  • DO NOT try to remove a foreign object that’s on the cornea or lodged in the eye.
  • DO NOT use dry cotton or sharp instruments such as tweezers on the eye.
